AquaVal, a service of Queensland Water Consultancy · Version 1.0, September 2026

This policy explains what personal information Queensland Water Consultancy (QWC, we, us) collects when you use AquaVal, why we collect it, who we share it with, where it is held and how you can access or correct it. This means your personal information is held and processed overseas. By using AquaVal you consent to that overseas storage and disclosure. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your information securely and only for the purposes described above.

6. How long we keep it

We keep our valuation records, including your contact details, the entitlement details and the report issued to you, indefinitely. A valuation may need to be verified, explained or relied on many years after it is issued, and our records are part of our professional and business records. You may ask us to delete your personal information, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it by law or need it for the establishment or defence of a legal claim.

7. Security

Access to our valuation records is limited to Queensland Water Consultancy staff and is protected by individual accounts and passwords. Information sent between your browser and our service is encrypted, and market pricing data and credentials are held outside the public part of the website. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.

8. Cookies and analytics

AquaVal stores your details in your own browser so you do not have to enter them again, and keeps your valuation in that browser tab while you work. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites.

9. Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email water@qldwc.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. There is no charge to make a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee for the cost of giving access in some circumstances. We may need to verify your identity first.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at water@qldwc.com.au and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
